Thomas Falk is a Swedish heraldic artist who has turned a lifelong passion for art into a professional career. Based in Borås, Falk began his journey into heraldry around 1992, later serving on the board of the Swedish Heraldic Society and as a Heraldic Artist within the Swedish Order of Freemasons.
In 2012, he founded Taxon Skandinavien AB which professionally designs and produces regalia, medals, and heraldic shields for fraternal orders in Sweden. His process bridges tradition and modern technology, utilising an iPad Pro for hand-drawn digital sketches, while specialising in hand-painted copper and metal shields.
Thomas hand-paints all shields for the highest degrees within the Swedish Order of Freemasons and the Society Par Bricole. In 2009, he won a design competition for the town of Thorsby, Alabama, earning him their honorary citizenship. His contributions to the field earned him the Swedish Heraldic Society’s Gold Medal in 2023.
Falk’s expertise is recognised through several formal appointments, including serving as the Black Rose Pursuivant of Arms to The MacCarthy Reagh, and holding status as an Honorary Member of the Clan MacCarthy Reagh and a Gentleman of the Royal Companionate of Carbery.
His chivalric honours include Knight Commander of the Order of the Eagle and Tunic (heading the Swedish Rectorate). Falk continues to dedicate nearly all his time to his drawing, seamlessly blending his work and lifelong passion.
